YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Camp Bravo
(Public Relations Intern, May 2019 - August 2019)
During the summer of 2019, while I was still a music production major, I got a paid internship with the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. The internship was advertised as public relations, which was a field I was more or less unfamiliar with. I applied for and took the job because I had always been interested in representing record companies and musicians. During this internship, I was responsible for taking pictures at five different campsites around the Indianapolis area and uploading those pictures to social media and the Camp Bravo SmugMug website. I also helped to make special promotional videos for the camp, as well as announcements to send out to the parents of the campers. The girl that I was interning with was a public relations major at Ball State, and once she told me more about the major, I realized that it fit my career goals better than music production. As soon as I went back to school, I changed my major.
